Our research focuses on crop production practices for small and medium scale specialty crop growers. We emphasize issues related to nutrient management, irrigation, integrated pest management, and soil health. Our work also addresses compliance with food safety, labor, pesticide, and water quality regulations. We aim to minimize environmental impacts and increase the economic viability of small-scale farms.
In addition, our team participates in food system planning and assessment processes. Other projects strive to raise awareness about local food and farming, support cultural diversity in farms and gardens, examine food security, and contribute to food system disaster preparedness and response.
